Robin Uthappa, one of the brightest talents of the domestic cricket of India, failed to go big on the International circuit. Playing a total of 46 ODIs and 13 T20Is, the aggressive batsman only mustered batting averages of 25.94 and 24.90 respectively. With competition increasing in the national team, he was eventually pushed out of the window.
However, he recently revealed his wish to get back to donning the national jersey. The latest interview of the 34-year old cricketer witnessed him telling that he has a World Cup left in him and he wants to use it to benefit his country.
Uthappa last played for India in July 2015 against Zimbabwe but has done well in the domestic circuit including the highly celebrated Indian Premier League (IPL). It remains to be seen how things go for him as it is really hard for him to break into a top-order which consists of the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Lokesh Rahul.
