Shoaib Akhtar still holds the record for delivering the fastest bowl in international cricket when he clocked 161.3 km/h against England in the 2003 World Cup. While Akhtar was at the peak of his abilities during the showpiece event, he failed to register a dominant performance against India.
Recently revisiting India’s iconic win against Pakistan in 2003, Mohammad Kaif shared a heartwarming video where his young son is seen commenting on Akhtar’s pace. Kaif’s son, Kabir, feels hitting Akhtar to the boundary fence would be easy since you would have to negotiate the pace efficiently.
Reacting to this assessment, Akhtar challenged Kaif to a duel involving a battle between Kabir and his own son Mikael Ali Akhtar. Kaif jokingly accepted the challenge and mentioned his son would have the advantage of his athletic abilities as a fielder.
