Sanju Samson is one of the brightest batting talents of India. After his sparkling shows in the Under-19 cricket, many predicted him to become a regular member of the national team. However, he failed to achieve the needed consistency to cement his place in the team. As a result, he was able to play only 4 T20Is in the last 6 years or so.
It is so because a top-order packed with the likes of Lokesh Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli leaves a little room for anyone else to breath. Therefore, Samson was usually found warming the bench just like he did for the major part of the New Zealand tour.
However, the aggressive batsman didn’t regret that as he got to share the dressing room with icons like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The 25-year old batsman added that he looked at the positive side of the equation and learned a lot from India’s batting giants. Samson added that he gets immense support from everyone and will get his chance too. For that to happen, he aims to hone his skills and become a stronger performer across the three formats of the game.
