Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik has strongly responded to Ramiz Raja’s suggestion to him and Mohammad Hafeez to retire from international cricket. Malik took a dig at the renowned commentator by asking him to consider putting an end to his broadcasting career as well.
After being left out of the national side for several months following the ICC World Cup last year, selectors decided to recall Malik and Hafeez into the team for the T20I series against Bangladesh at home in January.
However, Ramiz felt the time for the senior duo was up in the competitive arena and that they should now bid adieu to the highest level. “Now I think it is time they gracefully retired from the Pakistan team,” Ramiz said in a video conference. Malik’s subsequent swipe at the 1992 World Cup-winner attracted a lot of fanfare on Twitter.
