Pakistan, Malaysia and USA show interest in hosting future ICC events

While the current coronavirus lockdown imposed in numerous countries around the globe has stopped all sporting activities from taking place, the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) priorities have shifted to finding suitable hosts for future events.

According to reports, Pakistan, Malaysia and a consortium involving the West Indies and the United States of America are the top candidates who have shown interest in staging ICC tournaments in their respective nations.

However, this scenario has now become a concern for the ICC since no other cricketing nation has given an expression of interest to bid for hosting rights. Although the rumor mill is churning, this could just be a case of the uncertainty regarding the planning of bilateral series due to the COVID-19 crisis.
