Sledging the fellow cricketers isn’t a new phenomenon of the cricketing world. Time and again, we have witnessed some ugly duels on the cricketing world and they continue to happen when the situation gets heated up.
Recently, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif advised all the players against sledging the Indian captain Virat Kohli. The cricketing pundit said that some cricketers like Javed Miandad, Viv Richards and Sunil Gavaskar perform even better under these circumstances and Kohli is one of them. He gave the example of 2014 Test series against Australia where a face-off against Mitchell Johnson saw the right-hander mustering a plethora of runs.
Not only that, but the 51-year old also highlighted Virat’s fight with West Indian pacer Kesrick Williams as the 31-year old went on to play one of his best T20I innings. Therefore, he is of the opinion that teams should focus on implementing their plans successfully against Virat Kohli instead of sledging him, which can get him going.
