Australia’s two-Test trip to Bangladesh in June has been postponed indefinitely owing to the ongoing coronavirus threat. The COVID-19 induced health crisis has completely disrupted the international sporting calendar, throwing several series under the ambit of uncertainty.
Australia’s proposed tour of Bangladesh is now the third series part of the World Test Championship drastically affected by the deteriorating coronavirus situation. Earlier, England’s tour of Sri Lanka was also postponed while Bangladesh’s second match against Pakistan in Karachi has been delayed as well.
"This is understandably disappointing for players and fans of both sides. However, in the current global scenario of the COVID-19 outbreak and considering the nature of the health emergency, the BCB and CA are in agreement that this is the most sensible and practical decision,” BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said.
