Pakistan’s former cricketing legend Zaheer Abbas feels that the India-Pakistan series is not possible at the moment and he does not see it happening in the near future. Recently, Shoaib Akhtar in his YouTube channel proposed a 3-match series between India and Pakistan to raise funds for COVID-19.
“I think it is very difficult. We have been trying for long but I don't see it happening in the near future.” Abbas contradicted with Akhtar. The legendary cricketer said that cricket can only return when things become normal.
Both countries have not played a bilateral series since 2012 and despite being many efforts from both cricketing boards, no results were fruitful. Currently, with global sporting activities suspended the chances of the series have become bleaker.
Abbas signed off by saying, “It depends on how the situation unfolds. At some point in time, sporting activities have to be resumed, but before that life should come back on track. If all the concerned authorities are satisfied, they can go ahead with the events, but nothing can be said as of now.”
