After briefly touching the top rank in Test cricket under Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan failed to continue the good work. The ongoing ICC World Test Championship provides them an excellent opportunity to restore the lost pride. Currently, Pakistan has played 5 games while winning 2 of them.
Reflecting on all this, Pakistan’s Test captain Azhar Ali revealed that he wants to take the green team to the number one spot in the purest format of the game. The Test veteran added that his unit will have to perform well in both home and away series to make it happen. He specifically highlighted forthcoming challenges against England and New Zealand while revealing that his team would look to play fearless cricket.
The veteran of 78 Tests and 53 ODIs was regretful of his shoddy run which was ended with him smashing a delightful century against Sri Lanka at Karachi. He also plans to continue scoring a plethora of runs to help his team rise in the global red-ball competition.
