AB de Villiers has opened up about his plans regarding his availability for the ICC T20 World Cup. The former South African batsman was planning to take back his retirement and make himself available for the mega-event. However, with uncertainty revolving around the T20I World Cup due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AB de Villiers is reconsidering his plans.
"If the tournament is postponed to next year, a whole lot of things will change. At the moment I feel available but at the same time, I don't know how my body will feel then and if I will be fit," he said.
CSA was very keen on monitoring the middle-order batsman’s performance during the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. With now IPL postponed as well, AB will get very fewer opportunities to prove that he is still capable of demolishing the oppositions. AB said that if he feels his body is not 100% fit, he won’t play the T20I world cup.
"If I am 100% as good as I want to be, then I will be available. But if I am not, I won't open myself up to that because I am not the type of person who does things at 80%.", he added.
