The BCCI has decided to postpone the Indian Premier League 13th edition indefinitely after the lockdown extended in India till 3rd May 2020. As the cases of COVID-19 in India surge over 10,000, the government has decided to call of the prestigious tournament.
IPL was firstly postponed until 14th April but now as the situation continues to deteriorate, BCCI has taken the decision to call off the tournament for now. "Since lockdown has been extended, we have to postpone the IPL for the time being, the decision will be intimated, we will discuss the matter later today," sources within BCCI told the local news network.
With the COVID-19 outbreak, the chances of any cricket till the late summers look ominous. ECB has also called its cricket season till the 28th of May 2020 whereas Cricket Australia (CA) is also planning to postpone the ICC T20I World Cup if the situation does not improve.
