Despite being one of the most pleasing batting talents, a continuous loop of blunders and inconsistency made Umar Akmal a problematic child of Pakistan Cricket. In fact, he recently landed himself in trouble after not reporting fixing approach to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for which he is likely to get a 6-month or a year ban.
Reviewing all this, paceman Sohail Tanvir shared his thoughts on the matter as he urged the middle-order batsman to become a mature character. The 35-year old refrained to speak much on this subject but prayed to see Umar’s problem solving and wished him good luck for the future assignments.
“Whenever a fellow player gets into an uncomfortable situation, it reflects badly on all of us and this is why I’m hesitant to make any judgment on Umar’s situation. All I will say is that he has played cricket at all levels for a while and he needs to become more mature now,” Tanvir wrote while penning down his thoughts in a blog.
