Dinesh Karthik, one of the brightest talents of the domestic cricket of India, failed to go big on the International circuit. Playing a total of 26 Tests and 94 ODIs, the aggressive batsman only mustered batting averages of 25.00 and 30.20 respectively. However, he did well in T20Is by averaging 33.25 while maintaining a strike-rate of 143.52 in 32 T20Is.
Recently, the agile character revealed that he is completely focused to get back to donning the national jersey. For this to happen, he is eyeing a strong domestic show and make a case to play the T20 World Cup. The latest interview of the 34-year old cricketer witnessed him telling that he hasn’t lost hope and would look to do well if any opportunity comes his way.
“We have a T20 World Cup around the corner and I stand a good chance of making it to the team if I do well. There is no doubt about the competition being extremely tough, but it is my duty to get better as a player and the rest will take of itself,” said the wicket-keeper batsman.
