Amid the mass outbreak of deadly COVID-19, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to hold online fitness tests of many players as physical activities have been reduced significantly. However, an unfortunate event took place as the middle-order batsman Sohaib Maqsood got himself injured during the process.
During the online test, a glass on the table fell down and the broken pieces managed to cut the knee of Sohaib. He revealed that the cut was quite deep which moved him to consult a few doctors online because everyone is scared of visiting public places like hospitals.
The 33-year old batsman, who played 26 ODIs and 20 T20Is for Pakistan, cleared that it was all an accident and he isn’t making any excuse to avoid the fitness test. Not only that, he fully backed the policy of PCB for taking fitness tests during quarantine days as it urges players to stay in shape for cricket when things return to normalcy.
