Zaheer Abbas feels fixing as damaging as attack on Sri Lankan team

Legendary batsman Zaheer Abbas is of the opinion that Pakistan's cricket’s problems with corrupt activities are as gruesome a menace and damaging as the attack on the Sri Lankan team bus back in 2009.

The terrorist attack on the touring party in Lahore led to international teams refusing to travel to Pakistan for a long time with the county experiencing its first taste of Test cricket after almost a decade. Zaheer thus backed the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) initiative to criminalize spot-fixing and hoped this would further curb the issue.

"If the militant attack on the Sri Lankan team bus dealt a big blow to Pakistan cricket as we were forced to play away from home, these corruption scandals have not been less damaging to our cricket over the years," he stated.
