Rohit Sharma calls Shubman Gill the ‘future of India’

At the age of 20, the top-order batsman Shubman Gill has managed to garner a lot of admiration from different cricketing spheres. With a strong show, the right-hander racked up impressive numbers in the three forms of the game. A first-class average of 73.55, a List-A average of 45.60 and a T20 average of 33.78 clearly speaks of the plethora of talent of Gill.

Recently, it was acknowledged by the Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma who believes that Shubman is the future of Indian cricket. The belligerent cricketer shared his views during an Instagram live session with off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Rohit said that there is a strong competition in the Indian team and it would only improve with the installation of a batter like Shubman. Moreover, the 32-year old cricketer called for a long and consistent run to be given to the rising batting sensation of India. Rohit has no doubts about Shubman’s skills as he kept on sharing words of encouragement for the newest batting star of India.
