It would be hard to overemphasize the importance of Indian Premier League (IPL) in the T20 world. Filled with sensational cricketers, the 8 teams are found to put their best game forward in pursuit of a glorious trophy. As a result, a plethora of special performances are witnessed in all the three departments of the game.
Recently, wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik reviewed the previous seasons of India’s darling T20 tournament and named the best IPL XI side. It is important to note that the criterion of his side was that he could pick cricketers with whom he has played at least one game in the T20 competition.
For opening the innings, Karthik picked the iconic duo of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. The 34-year old cricketer formed his middle order by including the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma while picking himself at the wicket-keeper position. Andre Russell and Sunil Narine were slated as the strikers.
Coming to bowling, the dexterous cricketer opted for the class of Glenn McGrath and backed it with the prowess of Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Starc. Moreover, he included Yuzvendra Chahal as the specialist spinner of the team.
