Imran Nazir was one of the brightest talents produced by the Pakistani soil. However, he wasn’t able to utilize it to make strong progress in International cricket. Playing a total of 8 Tests, 79 ODIs and 25 T20Is, the aggressive opener mustered batting averages of only 32.84, 24.61 and 21.73 respectively.
Recently, former Pakistan paceman Shoaib Akhtar reflected on the career of Imran Nazir as he called him more talented than former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who was known for his belligerent style of batting. However, the difference, Akhtar was able to spot lied in the manner in which these batters used their brain.
Not only that, but he also blamed the management for not managing the talent of Imran. The cricketer-turned analyst believes that Imran had a lot to offer to the green team. Moreover, he highlighted the ability of the 38-year old cricketer in fielding, which, in Akhtar’s opinion, made him a fantastic package for the national team.
