England’s opening batsman Jason Roy is disappointed as England’s cricket season has been postponed until 1st July amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. The right-handed batsman was eager to participate in the newly launched format by ECB called the Hundred.
“You saw the response on the World Cup final, everyone was watching it and we were getting great feedback again. It's a huge shame that we won't be able to get out in front of a home crowd again, especially after all that.”, Roy told a prominent news network.
Jason Roy was picked up by Oval Invincibles as a top-tier player for 125,000 Pounds. First of its kind, the Hundred was expecting to gather immense crowd response on-air and on the ground as well.
Roy signed off by saying, “Obviously there was a huge incentive for the ECB, it was a huge competition that they put a lot of money into but it's only right that it be delayed until next year. You want the best players coming over and at the moment they can't. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is at the moment.”
