Australia’s middle-order batsman Marnus Labuschagne is hopeful that India will tour Australia despite the COVID-19 crisis. With the situation of the virus ameliorating in Australia, Marnus feels that India can tour Australia for the full series starting in October.
The right-handed batsman admitted that it has been really frustrating for not getting any cricket in the quarantine times. "Well, it would mean that we are not playing cricket which is pretty devastating for me, the rest of the team and for the country"- Labuschagne told reporters during an online press conference.
"In between, there is the T20 World Cup, scheduled for an October 18 start, but the mega event’s future is also shrouded in uncertainty due to the global crisis." - he said. Currently, Australia has only recorded 6800 positive COVID-19 cases. With strict lockdown restrictions, Australia has managed to counter with the threat better than other countries. That is the reason why Marnus is hopeful that if things continue to improve, Australia and India might play a full scheduled series.
