Former Pakistani leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed reckons Yuzvendra Chahal as a powerful force with the bowl and offered him fruitful advice to improve some areas of his bowling. Mushtaq said that Chahal is a very good leg-spinner, however, there are certain areas where he can improve.
"Chahal is a very good bowler but can use the crease much better. He can go wide of the crease at times. You got to be smart enough to understand pitches. If it is a flat pitch, you can bowl stump to stump"- Mushtaq
"If the ball is gripping, you can go wide of the crease because you can trouble even the best of batsmen with that angle. That way your googly also doesn't turn as much as the batsman expects and you end up taking a wicket.", he added.
Moreover, Mushtaq admitted that Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav learned a lot from MS Dhoni while he was the wicket-keeper of India. Chahal has been a great success for India in the white-ball cricket since his debut in 2016. The leg-spinner has taken 146 wickets in 94 International matches.
