Once a mediocre performer, Rohit Sharma currently serves as an epitome of consistency in the cricketing world. However, the journey wasn’t smooth for him when he used to bat in the middle-order for India.
Nevertheless, he was promoted to open the batting and now Rohit has over 9000 International ODI runs. Playing 224 ODIs, Rohit smashed 29 centuries and 43 fifties to average a shade under 50. Not only that, he is the only player to score three double centuries in ODI cricket.
Recently, former Kiwi cricketer Simon Doull reflected on the ODI career of Rohit Sharma. He believes that Rohit would be the first opener picked in an all-time Indian side because of possessing a sparkling record – which is even better than legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
Moreover, the 50-year old, who represented New Zealand in 32 Tests and 42 ODIs, said that he loves watching him bat as the aggressive batsman is an incredible player and does everything with ease and full confidence. These thoughts were shared by him in the latest episode of Cricket Inside Out.
