Babar Azam, the top-order Pakistani batsman, clearly seems to be the best thing happened to Pakistani batting line-up in a long time. Averaging more than 50 in both ODIs and T20Is, the T20I skipper of Pakistan is counted among the best white-ball modern-day batters. Not only that, but his Test numbers are also improving all the time.
Recently, the rising batting sensation revealed that he used to emulate the South African batting icon AB de Villiers during the early part of his career because of AB’s ability to play well in all the directions. Moreover, the 25-year old cricketer revealed that he always had a lot of passion for cricket – an element that kept him going all the time.
“During the early part of my career when I was featuring in club cricket, I used to follow AB de Villiers. It was so because AB is a natural player and plays in all the areas. Following him closely, I used to practice his shots in the nets and improve my game,” said Babar Azam.
