After remaining deprived of the taste of Test cricket, Pakistan finally saw their stadiums being graced by the Test tour of Sri Lanka. The Islanders played a two-match Test series, which the hosts won 1-0. While the crowd of Karachi gained momentum in the last few days, Rawalpindi saw a great reception throughout the red-ball game.
Recently, opening batsman Shan Masood relived the memories of the historic tour for Pakistan. The tall fellow once again extended his gratitude to Sri Lanka Cricket for helping and giving a chance to showcase a positive image of Pakistan. The 30-year old cricketer also shared jubilation on being able to play International cricket in whites in front of the home crowd.
It was a fine series for Shan as he mustered a total of 140 runs in 3 innings while managing a strong average of 46.67. Importantly, he scored a fantastic ton in the Karachi Test which boosted his confidence as his career best knock helped Pakistan record progress in the ICC World Test Championship.
