Zafar Gohar, the left-arm spinner, is one of those cricketers who are knocking at the door of the national team of Pakistan. With a spectacular bowling record and ability to add useful runs lower down the order, the skillful cricketer is catching the attention of many cricket pundits.
Recently, former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal reviewed the skills of Zafar and called him an invaluable option in Test cricket. The cricketer-turned coach believes that the 25-year old cricketer has a lot to offer to the national team. Moreover, he regretted the fact that Islamabad United wasn’t able to give many games to the exciting spinner because of the emerging player rule and Shadab Khan being there as their main spinner.
“Gohar has a great chance of making it to the Pakistani side as he could serve as an invaluable option in the red-ball cricket. Currently, Yasir Shah is our main spinner in Tests, but I believe that a finger spinner could ameliorate the quality of our bowling attack,” said the 42-year old cricketer who worked with Zafar in the currently halted edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
