With the advent of T20 leagues, many International cricketers are found rubbing shoulders against each other while playing for different franchises. However, it is hardly a case for the Indian cricketers as they do not feature in any foreign T20 league apart from their high-quality Indian Premier League (IPL).
Time and again, many cricketers have urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow participation of their players in other tournaments. This time, it was the turn of middle-order batsman Suresh Raina to share his thoughts on the matter as he expressed willingness to play in leagues other than India’s cash-rich T20 tournament.
Raina hoped to see BCCI granting permission to the players who don’t have central contracts so that they can improve their game. The veteran of 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20Is also highlighted the names of Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan who can be of great value to any T20 team. Therefore, Raina thinks that it will eventually benefit Indian cricket as players will gather valuable experience by playing in different conditions.
