Pakistan’s legendary batsman Mohammad Yousuf has opined that it is unwise to compare Babar Azam with Indian captain Virat Kohli. Babar’s meteoric rise in world cricket has seen him rack up heaps of runs across formats in different conditions, leading to comparisons with Kohli’s greatness.
Yousuf, however, maintained that it was too early to liken Babar to someone like Kohli since the latter has already been in the international circuit for over a decade. The esteemed player, though, claimed that Babar’s career trajectory showed signs of him replicating Kohli’s heroics in the future.
“Babar is young. Many people compare him with Virat Kohli. But I think it is not ideal because Kohli has played more number of matches and he is more experienced - since he has been playing international cricket since 2008-2009. Babar still has a long way to go. Both are excellent players, there is no doubt,” Yousuf told Sportstar.
