Jofra Archer went back in the memories and remember the gloomy incident from the Ashes 2019 when his ripping bouncer hit Steve Smith just below the head. The former Australian captain fell on the ground straight after the incident and later was substituted by Marnus Labuschagne as a like-for-like player.
Archer feels that the incident remembered him Philips Hughes, the Australian batsman who lost his life because of a lethal bouncer that hit him in the neck during a Sheffield game in 2014.
“My first reaction was that it hit the helmet but a few seconds after he went down, everyone was like 'Oh no'. We had the stuff with Phil a few years ago and, generally, anything that hits you in that vicinity is going to be trouble. I'm just glad that he came out on the other side of it and batted in two games”- Archer said. Remember, Archer and Smith have played with each other in Rajasthan Royals.
