The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly believes it is not realistic for a five-match Test series to take place in Australia this year. Reports had earlier emerged regarding Cricket Australia’s (CA) proposition to play five Tests against India during the country’s international summer.
With India originally scheduled to play four Tests, Ganguly opined that extending the tour is not logistically possible. He remarked that the touring squad will already have to take into account the quarantine guidelines, providing them with little time to arrange an additional Test.
"I don't think it will be possible for India to participate in five Tests. There will be limited-overs games and plus we have to consider the 14-day quarantine guidelines. All this will extend the tour," Ganguly claimed.
